World of Warcraft Trial Account

Are you a fan of video games? If you are, chances are that you've heard of World of Warcraft (WoW), a hugely popular MMO created by Blizzard. Since you have to pay a monthly fee to play WoW, Blizzard has a Free Trial option, where you get 10 free days to play the game and see how you like it. Unfortunately, there are limits to this trial account - you can only get to level 20, you can only have up to 10 gold, you can't trade or use the auction house, etc. So what do you do if you reach level 20 before your 10 days are up? I'll go over that down below.

What To Do When You Hit Level Cap

  • You may have hit the highest level possible on free accounts, but there is still a ton more you can do with your remaining free play time. First, lets look at gold.

GOLD

  • You can only have up to 10 gold on a trial account, so spend some money on getting bigger bags or better armor once you get close to the gold max, so you won't have to buy bigger bags once you upgrade to the full version.
  • Any quests you finish once your at level 20 will convert the experience granted into gold, but I would recommend saving any high level quests until you can resume leveling, as you will need the XP once you upgrade.
  • Store any high value items in your in-game bank, so you can sell them on the Auction House once you upgrade.

Now, we'll take a look at leveling your professions in-game.

PROFESSIONS

  • You can only level your professions to skill level 100, but that's still a useful advantage to have once you get the full version of the game.
  • I recommend getting two gathering professions, so you can easily level them by running around on your mount collecting either herbs, ore, or skins. Remember to sell all these items you gain, or save them in your bank for the Auction House later.
  • You might want to look into secondary professions, such as fishing, cooking, or first aid. It will take time to level these professions, but it'll be a nice boost to have them leveled once you start the game properly.

Another thing to think about is joining a guild.

GUILDS

  • Contrary to popular belief, you can join a guild on your trial account, but you have to be invited by a guild member.
  • Guilds can offer a ton of perks, such as increased loot, increased reputation gained, faster mounts, etc.
  • Get used to your guild and its members, or find out which guild you want to be part of once you have a full account.

A seriously over looked part of the game is your reputation with friendly cities. In the full game, it can take awhile to level all your reps to Exalted.

REPUTATION

  • Go to a friendly cities starting zone, and make sure your mini-map shows low level quests. Finish these quests easily with your level 20 character, it'll be an easy way to gain rep with friendly cities.
  • You can start building guild rep by doing quests or dungeons with fellow guildies.
  • You can buy tabards in your home city, which will grant extra rep if you wear it while running dungeons or doing quests.

Finally, you can run dungeons or raids using the Random Dungeon Finder.

DUNGEONS

  • Use the RDF to join random dungeon groups, so you can get used to how dungeons work and what to expect from them.
  • You might be able to snag some decent gold, or even some good armor or weapons.
  • If you finish a dungeon using the RDF, you'll get a satchel that has some really helpful items in it for your character.

These are the only activities I can think of at the moment, but if you have any other ideas or suggestion, I'd love to hear them! I hope you guys and gals enjoy your time playing World of Warcraft, and thanks for your time :)
